The Louisiana Rural Health Association (LRHA) recognizes that rural areas are unique and differ from urban areas in their geography, population mix and density, economics, lifestyle, values, and social organization. Rural people and communities require programming and advocacy that responds to their unique characteristics and needs.

LRHA is a diverse group of individuals from communities, spread across the state of Louisiana - individuals who care about improving the health of people in rural Louisiana - individuals who provide healthcare in hospitals, physician and dentist offices, clinics and homes - individuals who pay for health care services or who plan for the health care services provided in the towns and parishes - individuals who need quality health services within their reach.
